Kids in the Wild - A Deep Adventure Challenge for ages 10-12

Location:  Stanley Mission – trip into Droppe Lake

Dates: July 28-31, 2025

Cost: $450 (includes food)

​

Enjoy camping, fishing, swimming and learning canoe skills with others your age. We will paddle into Droppe lake and set up a base camp for two nights. If you would like explore, learn and grow in God’s creation, come and join in the adventure!

​

The Deep Adventure Trips bring faith into the wilderness experience. This will include devotionals, prayer, testimonials and deep conversation around the fire. You do not have to have any faith background to participate or join the Deep Adventure trips.  It is good to hear everyone's story and learn from each other.

** Location subject to change if there are wildfires in the area or if we are unable to access the location due to fires.  If that happens, we will find a plan B that as similar to plan A as we can, and still get out canoeing to another fantastic location.

Food: We include food on our Deep Adventure trips.  Please let us know if you have any food allergies upon registration. All participants will take their turn helping their leaders cook breakfasts and suppers on the trips.

Cancellation Policy:  A $150 non-refundable deposit is required to register. The balance is due 30 days before the trip start date. No refunds on or after this date.

Prerequisites:  Anyone who feels unqualified or has doubts and fears – just be ready to give it your all! No experience necessary.  Instructors can teach you what you need to know on your trip.

Itinerary:

July 28: We will meet at the Youth Farm Bible Camp (YFBC) at Rosthern, SK at 8am to pack up our gear and van. Please pack a lunch for the drive from home. We will travel to Stanley Mission (about 4 hours) and put on the water in the afternoon.

July 29-30: Enjoy exploring, learning new skills and being challenged under our passionate and fun leaders.  Have fun fishing and swimming along with great camping in God’s creation. 

July 31:  We will take off the water around lunchtime and drive back to Rosthern.  We will plan to be back between 4-5pm. 

 

Cost Includes:

  • All canoe gear (canoes, paddles, pfd's)

  • Food from supper on July 28 to lunch on the 31th (you need to pack a lunch for the 28th)

  • Transportation from YFBC

  • Safety equipment (throwbags, first aid kit, emergency communication)

  • Group camping gear (tarp, axe, saw, fire box, etc.)

  • Group cooking equipment (pots, stoves, utensils, fuel)

  • Experienced and qualified guides

 

Transportation Details:

You will meet the group in Rosthern, SK.  From there, transportation will be in a 15-passenger van.

 

Medical Form and Waiver:

In order to participate in this trip, you are required to sign an Adult Waiver or Youth Informed Consent. You will also need to fill out the online medical form.
